codeOFconduct for students and their parents/ guardians + a breach of this code will result in permanent suspension. The code encourages appropriate language + behaviour + attire. Vulgar language / verbal + physical abuse / intimidation / manipulation of staff / tutors by students / their parents / guardians will not be accepted + will result in immediate suspension of a student/s classes + in some cases may result in further action being taken.

credits for missed lesson ONLY if tutor is sick / unavailable / a substitute is not available. No credits are due for student illness / dentist / doctor / specialist appointments / school excursions / discos / other school commitments / holidays / grand tours / Great Aunty Maud's surprise visit. If a student lost a leg / fell from a great height / something else rare + quite disasterous occurs tell us + we'll probably make an exception. Credits are only possible if a student is fully financial.   

substitution of a tutor may be necessary if the usual tutor is not available. If a substitute is not available a credit will be given on the following term invoice. 

absences  must be notified by emailing the RIFFS + RANTS Absent Register If the absence is because of a school commitment it is still the responsibility of the student / parent / guardian to inform the Absent Register. Failure to do so will negate any claim for a make-up lesson.

make-upLESSONS may be offered for lessons missed due to school commitments / illness / injury / holiday. This is more likely if Riffs + Rants is informed at least 24 hours before the planned absence. All make-up lessons are at the tutor’s discretion + any bullying / intimidation shown toward a tutor / staff member will not be tolerated.  Make-up lessons are only possible if a student is fully financial.  

LESSONswapping is allowed provided the tutor + Riffs and Rants has been given > one week notice. It is the student / parent / guardian responsibility to negotiate the swap with the other student / their parent + Riffs + Rants will not intervene / negotiate on a student’s behalf / coerce students to swap under any circumstance. Any undue pressure / unreasonable request made of another student will veto the swap. Riffs and Rants is unable to give out student names / timetable information to a third party, see our Privacy Policy. 

timetables  are prepared upon receipt of term fees + whilst we will make every effort to fill all requests for day / time / tutor / program / instrument we cannot guarantee your preferred arrangements. Early payment will ensure better results.

fees are due in advance of term or lessons. I understand that if fees are not paid in full lessons will not commence. I understand that choosing a Fortnightly Fee Package will include additional charges + commits me to the term and guarantees only 2 lessons in advance

paymentPLAN  is by Fortnightly Fee Package paid via PayPal contact accounts for authority. 

marketingCOMMUNICATIONS is important to get the correct message about Riffs + Rants to our public. From time to time we / our delegate will photograph / video + make audio recordings of student work in lessons / workshops. Mostly this will be used for marketing and archival purposes. Documentation may be copyrighted by the photographer / videographer / recording engineer / by Riffs & Rants + no approval / special compensation is available.
